What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Psychologist — Autism Diagnostic Evaluations position at Mind Rise ABA?
About the Role
Mind Rise ABA is expanding access to autism diagnostic services for families across Virginia. We're looking for a licensed psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team on a contract (1099) basis, providing comprehensive autism evaluations for children and adolescents. This is a flexible, high-impact role for a clinician who wants to directly address one of the biggest barriers families face: getting a timely, accurate diagnosis.
This is a remote opportunity, and candidates do not need to live in Virginia.
The Access-to-Care Problem
Across the country — and especially in our region — families routinely wait 6 to 18 months for an autism evaluation. Long waitlists at hospital systems and private practices mean children are referred for therapy services before they ever receive a diagnosis, delaying access to the care they need during a critical developmental window.
This role exists to close that gap: faster access to evaluation means faster access to treatment.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of BCBAs and clinical staff on referrals and case coordination
- Deliver evaluations remotely, with in-person options available at our Fredericksburg or Manassas locations
- Review and integrate assessment results, including ADOS-2 results when completed by trained members of our clinical team
- Provide clear, timely written reports to support families and referring providers
- Help streamline the path from first contact to diagnosis to therapy start
What We're Looking For
- Licensed psychologist (PhD or PsyD) with experience in autism/developmental evaluations
- Familiarity and experience with ADOS-2 administration, scoring, and interpretation
- Comfortable working independently as a 1099 contractor
- Virginia psychologist license or willingness and eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure
- Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States
- Strong communicator who works well within a multidisciplinary care team
Why Join Us

- In-person options at our Fredericksburg and Manassas clinics
- Competitive hourly rate: $100–$130/hr
- Be part of a growing, mission-driven team focused on early access to care
