What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at Min Plastics & Supply, Inc.?
Iwilei, Honolulu (on-site, non-remote) • $18–$22/hr DOE • Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Customers come to us with a plastic problem — sheets to cut, parts to fabricate, one-off bespoke builds, or a deadline that's already too tight. You're the one who gathers the material specs and details, turns them into a clean quote, and hands production everything they need to build it the way the customer pictured it. You're the front person customers talk with — the face of the company.
You'd probably like this job if you're someone who:
— Likes talking to people but also likes getting things right on the first try
— Gets a small win out of solving problems with a tape measure, calculator, and computer
— Wants real responsibility without being micromanaged
— Cares about doing work you can point at around town
A normal day looks like:
— Greeting walk-ins, answering calls, working through emails
— Listening to a customer describe what they're trying to build, then matching it to the right product or fabrication service
— Writing up quotes, sales orders, and clean CAD drawings so the shop can run with them
— Talking with production to double-check details or answer questions
— Following up on orders so nobody is left wondering where their job is at
— Helping keep stock counts, the showroom, and the front office in good shape
Your workspace:
— Your own desk, computer, and dedicated workstation in our A/C office
— Regular trips out to the production floor to coordinate with the shop
— On-site, in-person, non-remote — this is a hands-on role
Your first 90 days:
— Month 1: learn our product line, our software (we'll train you), and shadow the team
— Month 2: owning your own customers and quotes with a teammate backing you up
— Month 3: hit your stride on sales and build your routine
What you'd bring:
— Strong people skills — patient, friendly, calm when someone's frustrated
— Comfortable with basic math and measurements (we double-check, always)
— Reliable on a computer, willing to learn new tools
— Initiative — you don't wait to be told what's next
— Okay being on your feet, walking the shop, and occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs
Bonus, not required: customer service or inside-sales experience, QuickBooks, or any time spent in CAD software (Fusion 360, SketchUp) or design tools (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw).
A few honest things about working here:
— We close at 4:30. We mean it. Some occasional overtime, never surprise weekends.
— Small team — you'll know everyone's name in a week, and your work will be visible
— We make real, physical things, and you'll see them go out the door
— Growth is on offer if you want it — product knowledge, sales, and software all stack up here
Pay & benefits:
— $18–$22/hr depending on sales experience and industry knowledge
— Company-paid medical insurance (effective after 1 month)
— 3 weeks of vacation (after qualifying period)
— Paid holidays
— 401(k) with company matching
— Group life insurance
— Training is paid and on the clock
