What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analytics - Northeastern Co-Op position at Mimecast North America, Inc.?
The Analytics team at Mimecast is looking for a smart, passionate, and highly motivated Financial Analytics Intern. As an intern, you'll be supporting the BI & Analytics team on data analysis, reporting, and analytics for different financial departments across the company. Potential projects include building dashboards to track KPIs; preparing and transforming data for new datasets and models; and helping to integrate new data sources such as product usage data for new products. This is a great opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience with business intelligence tools and processes.
You'll work with analysts, operations, data engineering, data science and other functions to build data models, processes, methodologies and outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be an inquisitive learner with a passion for data and analytics who can collaborate with stakeholders across all functional areas to review and optimize reporting, analytics, and data enablement all while aligning to corporate objectives. This role requires a mixture of business acumen and technical expertise, along with an ability to build strong partnerships and relationships.

Responsibilities:
Use data-driven methods and work with analysts and analytic engineers to improve our analytics landscape and ability to turn insight into action
Gain experience working with stakeholders from various functional areas within the company
Fine tune your skills in data analysis, dashboard building, project management, data science, data modeling and data governance to support Mimecast's data-driven mission
Analyze data to drive real insights to our Finance, Sales, Go-To-Market, Customer, and Product teams
Utilize project management skills to navigate complex problems
Create dashboards and build reports concisely and impactfully
Advance BI team & corporate goals, promoting a data-oriented culture, insight generation and enablement of end-users.
Ad-hoc analysis as required to aid management decision making and business planning.
Qualifications
Self-starter & team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
B.S. degree in Math, Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems or related discipline
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent quantitative skills - demonstrated proficiency with analyzing, summarizing and presenting complex data in a clear and compelling manner
Strong business acumen - interest in understanding business issues and developing data solutions for business needs A high attention to detail and possess a passion for data, data quality & business analytics.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, utilizing data to tell a story.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with SQL, R, SAS, and/or Python is a plus
Experience in leveraging a modern analytics stack using Snowflake/any RDBMS and Tableau, Domo, MSFT Power BI is a plus
Understanding/exposure to Netsuite, Salesforce or other CRM tools is a plus
The US base pay range for this position is $24-36/hour. Our hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
