What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner position at Milwaukee Internal Medicine Associates?
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care to patients, including physical examinations, disease diagnosis and treatment, and preventive health services.
- Interpret patient information and make critical decisions about needed actions.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to form a high performing medical team.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and explain the results to patients.
- Prescribe medications and provide comprehensive instructions for administration.
- Counsel and educate patients about preventive measures to avoid illness.
- Coordinate patient care or refer patients to appropriate specialists.
- Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
- Follow all established nursing standards and protocols.
- on call requirements, weekend requirements (both on rotating basis)
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current and unencumbered license as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
