What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant/ Van Driver position at Milwaukee Health and Rehab?
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible to maintain through a variety of maintenance duties so that a clean and safe environment is maintained for residents, team members and visitors. This individual assists the Director of Maintenance in the areas of repairs and services to the residents of the community.

- Assist in areas as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or perform the responsibilities independently when the Director of Maintenance is not present in the community
- Maintains an excellent attendance record
- Effectively punches in and out each day with no exceptions
- Demonstrates a high level of safety in all work practices
- Complies with the uniform policy
- Responds to all building emergencies
- Maintains common areas free of scuff marks around door, jams, baseboards, walls
- Maintains the grounds by collecting trash, sweeping the dumpster areas and cleaning first impression areas
- Executes all assigned work orders timely and effectively
- Summary of Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a proficiency and understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing,
- electrical, mechanical and code compliance
- Experience preferred in maintaining water source heat pumps as applicable
- Possess an understanding of OSHA and life safety regulations
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles and interests
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
- Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills
- Transporting Residents to and from Appointments
