Overview
Milton Rents is seeking an experienced Class A Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our service team. If you’re a skilled technician with advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics, we want to hear from you.
Pay Rate: $41.14 hour. This is a union position.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment.
- Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety/functionality testing.
- Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical information.
- Train and provide technical guidance to other technicians.
- Assist customers with equipment operation and troubleshooting as needed.
- Accurately complete work orders and service documentation.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery.
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience in equipment rental or construction preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and own tools.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and serve as a resource for other technicians.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
