The Director of Instructional Technology and Data Analytics will provide collaborative and strategic leadership to oversee the district's technology integration and data-driven decision-making. This role will develop and implement a comprehensive vision to foster a culture of innovation and data-driven decision making across Milton Public Schools.
As a member of the Superintendent’s leadership team, the Director of Instructional Technology and Data Analytics will work closely with a diverse team of stakeholders to ensure our schools leverage technology to its fullest potential and utilize data to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for all students
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The Director of Instructional Technology and Data Analytics reports to the Superintendent and works collaboratively with district and school-based administrators. Salary range aligned with Milton Public Schools Unit B contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
●Develop and implement a vision for technology in teaching and learning.
●Align technology initiatives with district or institutional strategic goals, and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) Digital Literacy and Computer Science standards (DLCS).
Instructional Integration
●Guide teachers and staff on integrating digital tools to enhance pedagogy. Support the design of online, blended, and hybrid learning environments.
●Manage and evaluate the education technology staff, library staff and Data Specialist.
Professional Development
●Design and facilitate workshops and training programs to build digital fluency among educators.
●Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists to integrate technology effectively into lesson plans and instructional activities.
Resource & Vendor Management
●Oversee the selection, procurement, and implementation of instructional software, applications and learning management systems (LMS).
●Manage budgets and vendor contracts.
Data & Evaluation:
●Analyze student and teacher performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of technology initiatives and remedy areas not meeting standards.
●Act as primary contact for student information systems (SIS) with support from the Data Specialist. Provide ongoing support and training on systems to designated employees at each school.
●Oversee and manage district data systems; establish and ensure accuracy and efficiency in data collection, maintenance, reporting, analysis and interpretation.
●Lead organization, analysis and reporting out on student demographic, achievement, and performance data and other program evaluation activities. This includes regular presentations to the School Committee and other district leadership.
●Provide training in the interpretation and use of test results for informing data-driven decisions to various stakeholder groups: central office, administrators, teachers, staff, parents/guardians
Stakeholder Communication:
●Work closely with the Director of Technology to ensure the district's technology infrastructure, including network management, cybersecurity, hardware/software acquisition are aligned with the instructional needs of the district.
●Act as the primary liaison between the technology department, academic divisions, school boards, parents, and external community partners.
Other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
Desired Qualifications:
●Minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
●Minimum of three years of experience in a leadership role within a K-12 school district, with a focus on technology integration, data, and/or innovation.
●Hold a valid Massachusetts DESE license as a Director or Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent.
●Demonstrated understanding of current trends and best practices in instructional technology, data analytics, and curriculum development.
●Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage staff, build consensus, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
●Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and manage complex projects.
●Data-driven decision-making skills and experience with data analysis tools.
