Summary
The Fire Alarm Helper assists the Fire Alarm Technician in providing electrical services with specific responsibility for fire alarm installing, programming, repairing , and replacing related equipment; maintaining a regular inspection schedule; documenting activities; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Fire Alarm Technician in daily roles and duties of installation and preventative maintenance services of Fire Alarm and Automatic Sprinkler Systems.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with technician.
  • Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information and materials to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Assure the progress and completion of assigned tasks.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Fire Alarm System Agent/Burglar Alarm System Agent certification
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies
  • ESA/NTS Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 or higher
Other Qualifications
  • Must have a current driver’s license and a driving record that meets company minimum requirements.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must pass background check
