MHS is seeking a part-time Dispatcher/Telecommunicator (CMT) to join our Central Monitoring team. This is a unique opportunity to use your dispatch, safety/security, and customer service skills to make a meaningful impact in the lives of youth. As a CMT, you’ll be at the heart of campus operations, handling 15 - 45 dispatch calls daily, monitoring 1000 surveillance cameras, and coordinating emergency and non-emergency services across our residential facilities & school campus. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to serve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and coordinate incoming calls and service requests

• Monitor fire, mechanical, and security alarms

• Dispatch Campus Safety Officers and Service Technicians

• Operate as the central hub for phone and 2-way radio communications

• Respond during school closures and emergencies.

Hourly pay rate: $22.33 - $29.81 (plus shift differential), pay is determined based on experience. Part-time employees are eligible for a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program (EAP), and Hershey area discounts.

Work schedule: Up to 29 hours per week: Thursday – Saturday, 2nd shift (5:00 pm – 10:00 pm); 3rd shift flex (10:00 PM - 8:00 AM).

• 
  High school diploma or GED.

• Experience working with security alarm systems and surveillance equipment.

• APCO Telecommunicator I, APCO Law Enforcement Dispatch, APCO Medical Dispatch training, preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IBM platforms.

• Experience with a Total Quality Management System a plus.

• Experience handling service requests, complaints, and issues/problems.

• Strong customer service and telephone dispatching skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for the students.

• Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
