We have on campus a 24/7/365 health center facility with 40-bed infirmary and 3 school medical clinics with state-of-the art equipment. At MHS, we seek to educate the whole child. We are seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the growing team. The CMAs assist the registered nurses to provide high quality health care to students from PreK – 12 grades in a 40-bed Health Center and in the school-based clinics. This includes assisting with admissions & discharge procedures of students, as well as transporting and accompanying students to and from medical appointments off campus including emergency room visits.

This is a year-round position averaging 24-29 hours per week. Shifts are primarily 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. and include every other weekend plus a rotating holiday schedule, based on student’s needs. Potential set schedule: Week 1: Thursday - Sunday; Week 2: Thursday and Friday.

Hourly pay rate: $22.91 - 30.59 an hour (plus shift differential), pay is determined based on experience. Part-time employees are eligible for a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program (EAP), free lunches when on duty, and Hershey area discounts.

Qualifications

• Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship beyond high school required.

• Valid current certification from a state approved Medical Assistant training program or equivalent required.

• At least one year of experience in providing nursing aide care in a hospital, clinic or residential care facility required.

• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.

• Valid PA driver’s license, in good standing.

• OSHA trained blood-borne pathogens.

• Physically able to lift and assist injured students.

• Willing to support and follow school & departmental policies & procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed and specific instructions accurately.

• Commitment to provide high quality care to children and youth.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and team environment in a busy and dynamic work setting.

• Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.
