What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary School Behavior Interventionists position at Milton Elementary School?
Milton Town School District seeks to fill three elementary school-level behavior interventionist positions for student-centered, skilled Behavior interventionists to support emotional regulation, social cognition, and academics. The successful candidates will have the ability:
To work as a member of a team that employs restorative approaches in processing student behavior, repairing harm, and teaching pro-social problem-solving skills and/or
To implement behavior intervention plans, collect and analyze data, and provide targeted interventions.
Collaborate with professionals, including our behavior coach, special educators, guidance counselors, and classroom teachers. An advocate of inclusive education, a strong collaborator, and a problem solver are essential.
Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and families.
Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree, two or more years of relevant experience, and a background in special education or behavioral support. Expertise in the following areas will also be considered: CPI, LSCI, or other verbal de-escalation techniques, MTSS-B, and implementing various tiers of behavior support, as well as social cognition / social thinking group facilitation. The hours are 7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include health insurance, dental, and life insurance. The pay range is $22.47 to $29.87 or more based on experience and education level.
