Position Summary:

The Director of Information Technology (IT) position is a hands-on leadership role that reports directly to the CFO. The Director of Information Technology is responsible for managing IT applications and infrastructure technologies and a group of highly technical IT personnel supporting Milsco and its business unit IT systems, projects, and IT operations. The Director of IT develops and establishes IT department technology/application roadmaps, standards, and procedures, and assigns work to the operations staff. The position also has responsibilities for the analysis, planning, design, development, deployment, coordination, communication and operations of IT software/hardware systems and IT services supporting the business. This individual will work closely with his/her peers in the business and team members within IT to ensure overall betterment of Milsco IT and compliance with the IT policies, procedures, and standards. The Director of IT will lead an entire IT department for Milsco Manufacturing Company to provide 24x7 IT support services to Milsco businesses. The ideal candidate must have both leadership and IT technical know-how to effectively and efficiently manage Information Technology services and personnel that promote alignment with business strategies and support the company’s customer satisfaction, quality and profit objectives. This position will be required to work in a globally diverse workforce as a team player promoting one single global vision for Milsco IT department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the senior company, site, and functional leaders in the business, formulate and deploy long-term plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective IT systems that satisfy business requirements and goals.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for all Information technology needs of the business.
  • Ensure that local plant level IT issues and requirements are acknowledged and addressed in an efficient manner.
  • Builds organizational competency and alignment with overall business strategy
  • Oversee all aspects of Milsco IT department operations including Enterprise applications (XA ERP), IT infrastructure (Windows Server, VMWare), Communication (LAN, WAN, email, Voice, Video etc.), database/data integrity, backup recovery, regulatory compliance, IT Service desk and overall information security.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT group including downtime, reporting service levels, defining, and tracking IT operational metrics and provide status to management.
  • Prepare overall status and activity metrics that documents and tracks delivery of IT services, planned and unplanned system outages, and other key IT performance metrics.
  • Maintains overall security of network/systems/applications/information for Milsco and its business units.
  • Ensures high availability of business systems hosted by Milsco IT and any third-party cloud-based service providers on behalf of Milsco IT.
  • Owns and maintains strict controls on overall system/data backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategy. Develop and implement data retention standards and maintain them in support of audits and any other business needs.
  • Manage IT staff members in their daily activities as well as supporting business projects.
  • Develop and manage relationships with vendors in support of staff augmentation and systems support.
  • Establish and implement 'best-practice' standards as well as departmental policies and procedures.
  • Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, operational metrics and resource allocation to executive team, department leads, support staff, and end users.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT systems spending and initiatives.
  • Participate in the negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Build IT departmental strategies to align with the overall business strategy as well as business success
  • Develop and implement application, hardware and software standards for enterprise systems and IT services.
  • Create and manage formal budgets including both operational and capital projects.
  • Manage IT Asset Management life cycle for the regional responsible.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of Information technology experience with at least 5 years in a senior IT leadership role leading the IT department for a business.
  • Proven track record of hiring and leading highly technical senior level IT professionals to support a global multinational firm.
  • Sound knowledge of all aspects of IT services and operations.
  • Experience managing or leading major IT projects for a multinational firm is preferred.
  • Proven management skills with the ability to mentor staff members.
  • Good people skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
