Requirements / Qualifications
Ability to pass the District Proficiency Examination. Possess and maintain a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license. KNOWLEDGE OF: Proper methods, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds and general utility work. Maintenance of lawn sprinkler systems. Installation of playground and sports equipment. General black-topping, cement and surfacing procedures. Various types of utility maintenance jobs. ABILITY TO: Maintain sprinkler systems and do other utility duties. Follow oral and written directions. Read and follow simple blueprints, work sketches and plans. Take responsibility for other helpers and demonstrate procedures, equipment, operation and safety practices. Operate medium-duty equipment properly. Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties.
