WORK LOCATION: District Office/Student Services/SPED WORK HOURS: 24 HRS per week WORK SCHEDULE: TBD WORK YEAR: 9.5 months

Requirements / Qualifications

ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, as well as experience and/or training, which meets or exceeds the skills and abilities described. At least three years experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably working with children. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Basic first aid and CPR. Educational and developmental needs of children. Principles, methods, and objectives of occupational therapy. Record keeping and record management. Principles of consultation, training, and supervision. Laws and policies governing Special Education, particularly as they apply to the delivery of occupational therapy services.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES (continued): ABILITY TO: Work independently while following IEP’s. Stay calm and perform in emergency health situations. Assess the developmental and education needs of children. Identify and analyze areas of developmental sensory-motor dysfunction. Develop, implement and oversee treatment plans, goals, and objectives. Communicate clearly through all mediums. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information. Work with the public and outside agencies in a courteous and tactful manner. Maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Ability to prepare material and present in a group setting. Collaborate with staff, families, Occupational Therapist I, as well as with other agencies.
