• Must have a valid California teaching permit registered with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (i.e. Emergency Sub Permit for Prospective Teachers, Emergency Career Sub Permit, Designated Subjects CTE 30-Day Sub Permit, Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave)
  
  

Contact the Santa Clara County Office of Education if you need assistance or have questions about qualifications and applying for a substitute permit. -30-Day Emergency Substitute Teaching Permits are eligible for day to day or short-term assignments (minimum to apply) -Multiple or Single Subject Credentials are eligible for long term assignments (working 20 days consecutively in an assignment) -Current TB test (within the last 4 years)
