Wood Finisher
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Wood Finisher to join our team. As a Wood Finisher, you will be responsible for applying finishes to wood surfaces, ensuring high-quality and visually appealing results. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career growth.
Duties:
- Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling cracks, and applying sealants
- Must be familiar with the art of mixing your own stains/paints to match control samples
- Apply stains, varnishes, and other finishes to wood surfaces using brushes, sprayers, or rollers
- Ensure even coverage and smooth finish by removing excess paint or finish
- Use hand tools and equipment such as sanders, scrapers, and buffers to achieve desired results
- Inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary touch-ups or repairs
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and specifications
Skills:
- Experience in wood finishing and refinishing
- Knowledge of different types of wood finishes and their application techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power equipment related to wood finishing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
