Bakery Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Bakery Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with food and drink preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the service industry, have attention to detail, possess strong time management skills, and be passionate about delivering a positive customer experience in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of baked goods and café menu items with attention to quality and presentation
• Operate POS system for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
• Assist customers with their purchase, upselling products, and providing exceptional customer service
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas, dining spaces, and workstations
• Restock supplies, organize displays, and ensure the café is inviting and well-maintained
• Handle food safety practices in accordance with health regulations
• Assist with bussing tables and managing food handling responsibilities
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery

Experience

• Prior experience in food preparation, café or restaurant service, or retail environments is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Experience in food handling, sanitation, and basic math for cash handling or retail math is desirable
• Previous roles involving quick service or fast food restaurant operations are advantageous
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell and promote products effectively
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
