Summary of Position:
The Line Cook, is capable of executing all salad, sandwich, grill, pan and fry items while meeting presentation and time standards, assists others in the kitchen and maintaining a clean, well-stocked and organized work area.
Responsibilities for line cook:
- Inspects and verifies the quality and quantity of products received from vendors
- Prepare lunch and dinner items in coordination with the Executive Chef
- Prep the line and maintain a well stocked area throughout shift
- Understand department standards of food quality and recipe taste
- Presents themself professionally, e.g. clean uniforms, well groomed
- Maintains up to date knowledge of recipes, procedures and plating for all menu and special items for which one is responsible for
- Meets timing standards
- Coordinates orders with others, assists coworkers as needed
- Works cooperatively with front of house staff to respond to guests needs
- Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and food safety throughout the shift
- As required: stock taking, cleaning, opening and closing tasks; and any other duties designated by the management team or Executive Chef
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience
- Knowledge of food preparation and controls
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation quidelines
- Knowledge of protein temps
- Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
