What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Police Officer position at Millville Police Department?
The Millville Police Department is a non-civil service department seeking qualified candidates to fill positions part-time police officers. Candidate Minimum Qualifications: U.S. citizen, high school diploma, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and a valid Massachusetts License to Carry or the ability to possess one. Applicants MUST also have graduated from the M.P.T.C. Full-Time Academy or Bridge Academy with ability to be P.O.S.T. certified for a part time position.
Candidates will be expected to pass a background check, including CORI, psychological and physical exam and have an acceptable driving record. Current starting pay for probationary part-time officers $23.12 hourly along with shift differential (4pm-12am $2.75 per hour & 12a-8a $3.50 per hour) and $62 per hour for details for both full and part time officers. After probation part-time pay is increased. The Millville Police Department also offers the following: full educational incentive for full-time and part time officers: Associate’s Degree 10%, Bachelor’s Degree 20% and Master’s Degree 25% and $1,500 yearly towards the completion of a criminal justice degree.
