Job Description:
The Fence Installer Helper assists Fence Installers and Crew Leads with the installation of residential and commercial fencing projects. This role supports all aspects of fence construction, including material handling, site preparation, equipment operation, and job site cleanup. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, safety-focused, and willing to learn the trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation of wood, vinyl, chainlink, aluminum, and other fencing materials
- Load, unload, and transport fencing materials, tools, and equipment
- Dig post holes using hand tools or power augers
- Mix and pour concrete for fence posts
- Measure and mark layout lines according to project specifications
- Hold posts and panels in place while installers secure them
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow safety procedures and wear required protective equipment
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
- Provide general labor support as directed by the Crew Lead
- Assist yard crew with loading and unloading delivery trucks
- Organize, stage, and prepare materials for upcoming jobs
- Pull and bundle materials according to work orders
- Clean and maintain yard, warehouse, and storage areas
- Assist with inventory counts and material tracking
- Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies
- Restock commonly used installation supplies
- Maintain tools and equipment, including cleaning and basic maintenance
- Support delivery drivers with job site material drops when required
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient yard environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior experience in a construction yard, warehouse, or fencing company is a plus
- Ability to lift 5080 pounds repeatedly and perform strenuous labor in various outdoor conditions
- Good teamwork, communication, and timemanagement skills
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required)
- Able to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Team oriented with a strong work ethic
