About the Company
JOB DESCRIPTION Vice President of Operations Watford City, North Dakota · Oversight of Bismarck · Reports to ownership
About the Role
Position summary The Vice President of Operations is the day-to-day operator of a seven-concept restaurant group with approximately $8 million in annual sales. The portfolio includes a steakhouse with banquet facilities, a movie theater with concessions, a burger franchise, a coffee shop, two brewpubs, and a small brewery. The position reports to the owners, who retain final authority on brand, capital, and community decisions. Success is measured by improved profitability and by the group’s reputation for a consistently excellent guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the operating results of all seven concepts and report performance to the owners.
- Direct daily operations, including scheduling, food cost, labor, purchasing, and weekly financial reporting.
- Establish and enforce hospitality, service, cleanliness, and food-safety standards across every concept, with equal attention to the guest experience and cost control.
- Be present in the locations, inspect the work, and hold each manager accountable for both service and results.
- Recruit, train, and develop a bench of leaders capable of operating a shift and a building independently.
- Lead catering and banquet operations, with particular responsibility for the steakhouse, including standard operating procedures, event staffing, guest experience, and margin.
- Oversee the back office, including budgets, reporting, payroll administration, and vendor relationships.
- Maintain the physical condition of the buildings and present capital needs to the owners before they become emergencies.
- Decide operational matters on the floor. Refer brand, capital, and community decisions to the owners.
Qualifications
- Multi-unit restaurant leadership, preferably across more than one concept.
- A demonstrated record of P&L; management and of developing managers, not solely of culinary or front-of-house work.
- The ability to teach a hospitality standard, with evidence that guest experience and profit improved together.
- Experience operating a franchise brand alongside independent restaurants.
- Catering or banquet experience, preferably in a steakhouse.
- Willingness to reside in Watford City and travel to Bismarck.
- Strength in policies and procedures, team building, and consistency.
