Your Role:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining outstanding analytical capability for the Thin Films Business Field. The position will lead and develop analytical teams in R&D Centers in Carlsbad, CA, Hometown, PA and Banwol, Korea. The person will collaborate with R&D Managers to establish next generation analytical roadmap and develop teamworks or evaluations for key techniques that will be required for meeting the analytical needs of our customers. This role will contribute towards moving lab-based analysis to in line analysis as part of the PAT initiatives in existing or new facilities. This position requires good leadership and mentoring skills. This position reports to the head of Global Analytical Technology and responsible to handle and provide direct oversight for a growing team of 10 individuals.

The role will also support issues and questions from customers, operations, quality, and business area, including working directly with customers. This position requires good leadership, communications, and mentoring skills.
Principal accountabilities
  • The Manager position will be responsible for the following:
  • Analytical team management responsibility with established development plans for each chemist
  • Development of needed analytical expertise to meet the needs of the customers.
  • Establishing next generation analytical roadmap aligned to existing gaps and future customer needs
  • Ensuring consistency in processes followed at different locations
  • Running the effective transfer of methods to QC teams
  • Managing the execution and on time completion of analytical projects
  • Developing and maintaining the capital plan for analytical instrumentation
  • Lessons learned and continuous improvement for all new products related to analytical methods
  • Enable cross sharing of analytical takeaways between groups in different locations
  • Ongoing collaboration with technology and marketing managers to ensure that customer needs are met
  • Ensuring that the analytical teams are following Be Safe and R&D safety policies
  • Mentoring of staff to enable them to reach their full potential
  • Customer Engagement and Presentation
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry with at least 10 years' experience in the analysis of chemicals
Preferred Qualifications:
Broad knowledge of different techniques used in the analysis of Materials
Supervisory and/or Management experience
Strong organizational, communication and execution experience!

Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time

Experience in the analysis of semiconductor materials is a plus
