You Role:
- Sourcing to Contract activities: Execute from identification to launch own innovation projects, support to category initiated leads and/or TDP/PDP development/support (50%)
- Enhance the innovation network with LS business to maximize projects endorsements (20%)
- Empower the Innovation Community to spark the innovation concept & identify further opportunities across categories through their innovation champions (20%)
- Support Exploration (Scouting) of TDP/PDP opportunities in globally following R&D team needs expressed in their innovation roadmap (10%)

- Continue to develop/expand network relationships with Business Innovation network (BD, R&D, Produdct Managers)
- Flexible capabilities to execute projects for SEI, PDP activities and/or other strategic sourcing projects
- Lead network of innovation champions & empower them to motivate/manage further development of category innovation activities
- Coordinate target definition process w/network
- Plan, communicate and execute regular meetings with all relevant players in Innovation activities.
- Plan and execute together with sourcing categories a proper communication to suppliers
- Future focused activities that drive category growth.
- Strategy execution and further development of key objectives/tactics to accomplish SLS Innovation ambition.
- Report on developments of Innovation concept & performance to Head of Sourcing innovation and occasionally to SLS LT
- Coordinate a direct report in ASIA to perform Scouting/PDP activities for R&D/BD
- Participation in innovation fairs, supplier exhibitions and other events to identify/explore innovation opportunities directly.

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Formal training with Science focus: M.S., MBA or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in relevant industries
- Fluent in English
- Sourcing experience on raw material markets (esp. Chemicals)
- Extensive Procurement Know How
- Experience with Supplier Enabled Innovation (at least one project endorsed/completed) or as category champion
- Ability to successfully manage projects with global scope and impact independently
- Strongly results oriented and good record of positive accomplishments
- Professional negotiation and sourcing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Open & business-oriented mindset
- Good networking capabilities and established network of business partners at different levels
- Flexibility, adaptability, collaborative to navigate with different personalities & styles at Merck communities' landscape (business, suppliers, PO, etc.)
- Professional communication skills to interface between internal stakeholders, Sourcing- and PGS managers
- Experience to work in global teams
- Cultural sensitiveness
- Travel requirement: 10% of time
