About the role:
Responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, functional, social, and emotional growth of students with diverse and often significant learning needs, in alignment with Tennessee state standards and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role involves designing and delivering differentiated and functional instruction, implementing specialized interventions, and utilizing accommodations, modifications, and individualized supports to meet the unique needs of each student. The special education teacher assesses student progress toward both academic and life skills goals, collaborates with general education teachers, related service providers, support staff, administrators, and families, and ensures compliance with all district, state, and federal special education regulations. Additionally, the teacher is expected to integrate assistive technology, use data-driven instruction, teach essential life and daily living skills, and foster a structured, supportive environment that promotes independence, communication, and long-term success for all students.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a valid Tennessee teaching license.
- Endorsement in the grade/subject taught
- Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.

We value honesty and transparency in our hiring process. Our salary range for teaching positions is $50,055.20 to $75,398.68, determined by verified years of experience and recognition of a Master's degree.
