Encapsys ( www.encapsys.com ), now a part of Milliken & Company ( www.milliken.com ) is looking to hire student co-ops for the 202 7 calendar year to join our team in Appleton, WI. This is a competitively paid co-op position being offered to students in a Chemical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, or Chemistry program . Co-ops are also offered a special benefits package which includes a housing allowance and paid time off .
Encapsys operates in the specialty chemicals industry . Holding over 75 encapsulation patents, Encapsys is a global leader in encapsulation technologies within t wo primary business segments – Fragrance and Agriculture . Encapsys operates highly scalable encapsulation processes that deliver superior products .
Encapsys takes pride in providing co-ops with opportunities to build strong resumes through matching individual interests with available projects. Encapsys provides projects with a high level of responsibility that has strong impacts on the bottom line. Co-ops will work on both collaborative and independent projects in conjunction with the engineer/scientist project leaders. Each co-op is assigned a mentor to provide guidance through the processes of training, developing, and contributing .
Process Engineering plays a vital role in our ability to take products and processes from lab and pilot size trials and see them through to full-scale manufacturing processes in a timely and cost-effective manner. The team works closely with R&D and Manufacturing teams from project inception to commercialization. These teams work together on new product and process development, cost reduction, product line extensions, equipment design, scale up, and exploration/development of new technologies.
Typical process design duties include:
Designing, planning and conducting lab and pilot scale experiments
Testing products
Organizing and executing project plans
Supporting the encapsulation scientists and process design engineers on pilot or production equipment during experimental trials
Involvement in the day-to-day operations of an agriculture encapsulation plant as a process engineer
Participation in project work, daily duties, production meetings, and production-scale trials
Producing written summary reports and presentations
Education, experience, and qualifications:
Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in any of the following programs, rising Juniors and Seniors preferred:
Chemical Engineering
Chemistry
Material Science/Engineering
