POSITION OVERVIEW
The Demand Planner, based in Spartanburg, SC plays a critical role in driving the successful execution of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process by ensuring alignment across commercial, operational, supply chain, and financial functions. This position serves as the tactical owner of the monthly IBP cycle, coordinating activities, preparing analyses and planning scenarios, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring process discipline and execution. As the demand planning lead for the business, the role develops and maintains a forward-looking demand plan by leveraging market insights, sales forecasts, historical trends, and financial objectives to create a unified view of demand. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams, this individual drives consensus planning, monitors demand and inventory performance, identifies risks and opportunities, and facilitates actions to close gaps to business objectives. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate short- and long-term forecasts, supporting supply and financial planning decisions, and continuously improving planning processes, forecast accuracy, and business performance through Class A Planning and Control principles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the monthly Demand Planning and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes, ensuring alignment across commercial, operational, and financial stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain an unconstrained consensus demand plan using market intelligence, sales insights, historical trends, and statistical forecasting.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning and review meetings, driving engagement, decision-making, and accountability for execution.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, and Product Management to identify risks, opportunities, and actions that improve business performance.
- Analyze demand trends, forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and key planning metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct scenario modeling and what-if analyses to evaluate business risks, supply constraints, and growth opportunities.
- Translate demand plans into actionable inputs for supply, inventory, and financial planning teams.
- Own forecasting processes, assumptions, master data integrity, and reporting to ensure a single source of truth for business planning.
- Support new product introductions, lifecycle management, and commercial initiatives by integrating changes into demand and supply plans.
- Drive continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and analytics to enhance forecast accuracy, reduce bias, and strengthen decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field; 3+ years of equivalent experience considered.
- Strong analytical, forecasting, and scenario-planning capabilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional planning discussions and driving business decisions.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED
- Experience in apparel, textiles, flooring, or project-based environments.
- Commercial or sales experience related to demand planning, customer insights, or business forecasting
- Experience with IBP/S&OP processes.
- SAP, demand planning, or forecasting system experience
- APICS/ASCM certification.
- Manufacturing or supply chain industry experience
- Power BI or advanced data analytics experience
- Experience supporting new product launches and portfolio planning
There are two openings for this position, with one role supporting the Flooring business and the other supporting the Apparel business.
