Hatch - Knit Technician

POSITION REPORTS TO:
Sr. Production Manager / Production Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
Must perform certain daily repair work on knitting machines and doffs. Technicians are to perform daily technical machine checks. Must inspect fabric, looking at doff headend and rolling out on doff table as required by specific styles.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Assist in troubleshooting and repair of machines in production as needed
- Perform maintenance as required, such as, and various machine repairs
- Perform periodic quality checks on assigned machines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of experience on circular knit machines or equivalent
- Certified knitter
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knit Machine Mechanical Fixing Knowledge/ Experience
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Must be able to read and understand knit specification sheets.
- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment
- Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting
- Able to lift and move objects of up to 50 pounds
AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME
- 3 months

- Steel toed shoes required while on shift/in plant

1. Standing: Ability to stand while working >95% of day
- Sitting: Ability to sit down <5% of day
- Moving: Ability to move throughout plant: >95% of day
- Lifting: Ability tolift upto50lbs. 25% of day
- Ascending/Descending:Ability to walk upstairs,climb ladders,
climb on knit machine step boards (approx. 11"-14") 35% of day
- Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull fabric rolls,Boxes (approx.
50-150 lbs) 15% of day
- Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 25% of day
- Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties,
including reading information from printed sources and
computer screens and identifying defects in fabric. 100% of day
9. Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand
information. 100% of day
WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION
This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud.
SHIFT/WORK HOURS
Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
- 1st Shift: 8 AM - 6 PM
- 3rdShift: 10 PM - 8 AM
