Encapsys (www.encapsys.com), now a part of Milliken & Company (www.milliken.com) is looking to hire student intern and co-ops for the 2026 calendar year to join our team in Appleton, WI.  This is a competitively paid position being offered to students in a Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, or Chemistry program. Students are also offered a special benefits package which includes a housing allowance and paid time off.

Holding over 75 encapsulation patents, Encapsys is a global leader in encapsulation technologies within three primary business segments – Fragrance, Phase change, and Agriculture. Encapsys operates highly scalable encapsulation processes that deliver superior products.

Research and development plays a vital role in our position as a leader in the encapsulation market. Ongoing investment in R& D will continue to enable us to develop core competencies in encapsulation processes and applications and grow our business with new and existing customers.

Typical Job Duties For a Data Analyst Co-op Include

• Support R& D teams by collecting, cleaning, and analyzing experimental and operational data to drive innovation and product development.
• Assist in the development and automation of structured and unstructured data pipelines and workflows using tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, BI, NLP libraries, or ML frameworks, and API integration.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers and product managers to identify data needs and design data workflows that ensure accuracy, integrity, and usability of laboratory data.
• Apply statistical methods and predictive modeling to support experimental design, product development, and commercialization processes.
• Develop and apply AI and machine learning models to identify/interpret trends, predict outcomes, and relationships in complex data sets.
• Document data sources, methodologies, and findings to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions with data-driven insights.
  
  

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. or M.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in any of the following programs, rising Juniors and Seniors preferred:
• Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics
• Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Computational Sciences
• Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science with strong data/AI coursework
• Other supporting competencies include:
