The Department of Occupational Therapy at Milligan University invites applications for an experienced occupational therapist to become the next Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. The position is a full-time, exempt, 12-month appointment and carries administrative faculty rank (non-tenure track). Reporting to the Director of the Occupational Therapy Program, this position is responsible for the program's implementation and compliance with the fieldwork requirements of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards Section of B.10.0. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the program's implementation and compliance with the fieldwork requirements of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards
- Documents the criteria and process for selecting fieldwork sites and ensures the fieldwork program reflects the sequence, depth, focus and scope of content in the curriculum design.
- Responsible for advocating the development of links between the fieldwork and didactic aspects of the curriculum, for communicating about the curriculum to the fieldwork educators, and for maintaining memoranda of understanding and site data related to fieldwork placements.
- Regularly evaluates fieldwork settings through student feedback and/or on-site visits.
- Ensures student readiness for participation in fieldwork experiences including monitoring of health information, HIPAA and other regulations, and site-specific requirements.
- Receives, analyzes, and follows-up on the evaluation of student performance while on fieldwork.
- Develops and implements strategies with fieldwork educators and students when difficulties arise and remediation becomes necessary.
- Develops, oversees, and evaluates fieldwork education policy and procedure; make recommendations development of and/or change in fieldwork education written policy in student handbook.
- Responsible for advocating the development of links between the fieldwork and didactic aspects of the curriculum, for communicating about the curriculum to the fieldwork educators, and for maintaining memoranda of understanding and site data related to fieldwork placements.
- Assumes primary responsibilities for Level II A & B Fieldwork courses.
