What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Coordinator position at Millies Ice Cream Works LLC?
Millie's® Makes Moments.
Supply Chain Coordinator
Millie's Ice Cream Works, LLC — Homestead, PA
Reports to: Supply Chain Director
Status: Full-time, on-site | Hourly, non-exempt
Pay range: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour
Our Purpose
Crafting every scoop and every moment to make your day.
Our Core Belief
We believe authenticity is key to our success, and that authenticity has to encompass the product and reach well beyond it. We uphold our relationships as the keystone of everything we do — from sourcing heritage breed dairy, to finding local purveyors of sustainably sourced ingredients, to collaborating with like-minded regional organizations.
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Coordinator keeps ingredients coming in and product going out. The role is the working link between production, the warehouse, e-commerce fulfillment, and our supplier base — responsible for accurate inventory records in NetSuite, on-time outbound shipping, and the cost analysis behind what we buy and what we charge. It also assists with supplier discovery and vetting for new recipes, and supports new franchisees as they come online.
This is deliberately a two-sided job. Part of the day is physical work on the floor: pallets, freight, forklift. The other part is analytical: landed cost, yield, variance, vendor terms. We are looking for one person who is genuinely good at both.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse & Logistics
Palletize finished goods; load and unload inbound and outbound shipments
Drive freezer truck to fulfill local deliveries
Operate a sit-down forklift safely and within certification requirements
Pack and ship direct-to-consumer e-commerce orders
Coordinate curbside load-in and load-out, including timing with carriers
Inventory & Systems
Enter and maintain inventory, receipts, and production data in NetSuite
Reconcile physical counts against perpetual inventory and investigate variances
Maintain and file production and safety records in line with facility requirements
Cost & Analysis
Perform raw material and inventory cost analysis using NetSuite, Excel, and Claude
Track landed cost, yield, and freight to support pricing and margin decisions
Surface cost movement on key inputs to the Supply Chain Director
Sourcing
Assist with identifying, vetting, and onboarding suppliers for new recipes and ingredients
Collect and organize supplier documentation required for onboarding
Compare vendor quotes, terms, and minimums, and make recommendations to senior leadership
Franchise Support
Support new franchisees through product ordering and supply chain onboarding
Education & Experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Required: Valid driver’s license
Required: 2–4 years in warehouse, inventory, production support, or logistics coordination — manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Preferred: Forklift certification
Preferred: Hands-on ERP experience; NetSuite specifically is a real advantage
Preferred: Any exposure to purchasing, vendor management, or cost accounting
Knowledge, Skills & Talents
Comfortable with numbers as a daily tool, not an occasional task — cost per pound, yield, freight, variance
Strong Excel skills; able to build and sanity-check a cost model without handholding
Detail-oriented in a way that shows up in the records, not just the intent
Clear written and verbal communication across production, fulfillment, and outside vendors
Comfortable in a blue-collar work environment. This is a plant, not an office.
Able to switch between the floor and the desk in the same shift without losing the thread
Safety-minded, with the judgment to stop and flag a problem rather than work around it
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs
Extended standing, walking, bending, and repetitive lifting
Cold and freezer environments and warm production areas, sometimes within the same hour
Occasional extended hours around production and shipping peaks
Food manufacturing environment: GMP, PPE, hygiene, and allergen-handling requirements apply.
