What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jewelry Casting Operator position at Milliard Diamond Concierge?
Milliard is looking to expand our team by hiring a Casting Operator with three or more years of relevant experience to manage all casting operations of gold, platinum, and silver. The Casting Operator will work alongside our CAD Team, Jewelers, and Design Team and report to our Master Jeweler and Director of Production.

Responsibilities
Casting
* Execute all stages of casting: tree assembly, investment, burnout, alloying, pouring, and devesting
* Plan and schedule daily casting batches according to production requirements
* Monitor casting parameters and ensure correct alloy composition and karatage
* Control metal yield, weight loss, and re-melting ratios
Quality Control
* Optimize casting processes to minimize defects such as porosity, shrinkage, and surface roughness
* Manage casting temperature, burnout cycles, and vacuum/pressure settings
* Review casting samples and ensure adherence to design and quality standards
* Coordinate with CAD Team, Jewelers, and Design Team as needed to resolve casting-related issues. Escalate issues to Director of Production as appropriate.
Equipment & Maintenance
* Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of all casting equipment
* Plan preventive maintenance schedules and maintain inventory of essential spares
Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain casting logs, yield reports, and metal reconciliation records. Prepare and submit daily/weekly casting performance reports
Position Requirements
* 3 years of casting experience in the jewelry industry
* Experience with Flashforge WaxJet 510 3D printer and Indutherm MC60V casting kit a substantial plus
* Piro ERP experience a plus
* Familiarity with safety and quality control standards
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and instructions
* Physical stamina and dexterity to handle prolonged periods of standing and repetitive tasks
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Job Specifications
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm in-person with 30-minute lunch. Occasional non-standard work hours as needed incl. Saturdays (e.g., during holiday rush).
Pay: Starting salary from $60,000 per year based on skills and experience
Benefits: Health and dental insurance; 401(k) eligibility after one year of service including 4% employer match; 10 days of paid time off per year (may be prorated depending on timing of hire); 8 paid holidays per year.
