We are seeking a hands-on Part-Time Human Resources Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and payroll/benefits administration. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. The hours are Monday through Thursday on-site from 12 noon to 5 pm.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment (job postings, screening, interviews, hiring)
- Oversee onboarding, including background checks, credentialing, and new hire orientation
- Support payroll and process employee status changes
- Administer employee benefits and assist with annual renewals
- Manage leaves of absence (FMLA, NJFLA, NJFLI, workers’ comp, sick leave)
- Coordinate training and compliance requirements
- Handle employee relations, documentation, and offboarding processes
- Ensure compliance with federal and New Jersey employment laws
- Maintain HR records, policies, and employee handbook
- Support audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience, or related field
- 3–5 years of HR generalist/manager experience
- Strong knowledge of NJ employment laws and HR compliance
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience in nonprofit organizations
- Background in early childhood education and/or behavioral health settings
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus
