Wine Retail Sales Associate

Established in 2006, Millesima USA is the American subsidiary of the French Bordeaux-based Millesima SA, the undisputed leader in online sales of fine wines in Europe. Through e-commerce (www.millesima-usa.com) and a retail store in New York City, Millesima USA offers a comprehensive selection of fine and rare wines, including the most sought-after French, Italian, and New World brands. We are looking for an energetic and personable Wine Retail Sales Associate who can guide customers with varying levels of knowledge at our new flagship Store in the Upper East Side. The ideal candidate will also be prepared to take on expanded responsibilities as opportunities present themselves.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchasing advice tailored to each individual preferences and guide them through the world of fine wine
• Assist customers on the phone and process the orders
• Utilize Millesima’s Point of Sales system and procedures to enhance and ring up sales
• Participate in store opening and store closing duties
• Participate in industry tastings and weekly tastings with wholesalers
• Help to set up in-store tastings and in-store events
• Replenish and maintain inventory and store visual presentation

Requirements

• Sales experience in wine retail required
• Passion and enthusiasm for wine required
• Detail-oriented, customer service oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task
• Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekend shifts and some holidays if required.
• Be dependable, punctual and have strong communication skills
• Candidate must be legally eligible for employment in the United States
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or utilize provided lifting equipment when necessary

Position Details

Full time on-site job. Competitive wage commensurate with experience and bonus incentives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
