Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate cash registers (POS systems), accurately process sales transactions, and handle cash, credit, and debit payments with confidence
- Maintain the cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring accuracy in cash handling
- Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and product demos to create an inviting shopping environment
- Support store operations by participating in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and basic retail math calculations
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering operations in a retail or grocery store setting
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, pricing, and inventory management
- Excellent customer service skills combined with friendly phone etiquette to build lasting relationships with shoppers
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in cash register operations and stock management
