Key Roles and Responsibilities as a Senior Manufacturing Methods Specialist:
- Execute Order Workflow Processing, translate product drawings to manufacturing routings
- Manage Bills of Material (BOM) and routings
- Create & Maintain Epicor T&I Division Part Data
- Execute Epicor Part Engineering Changes & Notices
- Support process improvement as Subject Matter Expert
- Analyze complex product drawings, technical specifications, and design requirements to determine and apply manufacturing methodologies per ME/business guidelines. Use CAD Link to create new parts
- Build and manage complex (parent-child) BOM hierarchies to accurately reflect how sub-assemblies and raw materials feed into the final finished good
- Ensure all raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies are accurately listed and updated within the ERP system to prevent production delays
- Function as the primary gatekeeper for new EPICOR part creation, ensuring all critical fields (descriptions, weights, dimensions, and other codes) are populated correctly upon entry
- Enforce naming rules and standardized descriptions to ensure parts are easily searchable and identifiable across all departments
- Data Auditing & Quality Assurance: Perform regular audits of the material master database to proactively find and correct missing information, formatting errors, or incorrect categorizations
- Function as the "technical librarian" by reviewing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and updating BOMs/Routings in real-time to prevent the production of outdated versions
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Cross-functional business partner in supporting part data integrity. Functions as part method help chain, project, and process improvement SME
- Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, Mfg. planning, and/or drafting
- Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
- Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and routings; Epicor ERP experience is preferred
- Experience with Cadlink or similar CAD-to-manufacturing part definition tools is preferred
- Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Working knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and shop practices; able to translate drawings into buildable routings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality
- Comfortable utilizing computers; particularly working with spreadsheets, email, and ERP/production planning applications
- Ability to solve practical problems, apply standards, and make sound decisions within defined procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate and influence cross-functional partners
