Veterinary Technician
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and surgeries
- Prepare animals for surgery, including pre-operative exams and post-operative care
- Take and develop X-rays for diagnostic purposes
- Provide assistance with dog training and pet grooming as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred
- Certification as a veterinary technician (CVT) is a plus
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and anatomy
- Proficient in handling and restraining animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
