Guitar Teacher

Miller School of Music
Rochester, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 4/15/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/14/2026

Overview
We are looking for a passionate, reliable, and energetic Guitar and/or Piano Teacher to join our growing music studio. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves music and enjoys working with students of all ages and skill levels.

You don’t need years of teaching experience—we’re happy to work with the right person who has a strong musical background, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn. If you’re newer to teaching, we can help you get comfortable and set up for success.

In this role, you’ll teach fun, engaging lessons that help students build confidence, develop solid technique, and most importantly enjoy playing music. Lessons range from total beginners to more advanced students, so being adaptable is key.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one-on-one guitar and/or piano lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
  • Create simple, effective lesson plans based on each student’s goals and interests
  • Help students build fundamentals, technique, and basic music understanding
  • Keep lessons fun, engaging, and encouraging
  • Maintain a positive and respectful learning environment
  • Track progress and communicate with students (and parents when needed)

Experience (Flexible)

  • Strong playing ability on guitar and/or piano
  • Teaching experience is a plus, but not required
  • Comfortable working with kids, teens, and adults
  • Basic knowledge of music theory and technique
  • Reliable, patient, and easy to work with

Additional Notes

  • This is a paid position
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Great opportunity for musicians looking to gain teaching experience or grow their student base
  • Support and guidance provided—especially for newer teachers

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
