Immigration Attorney —

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Immigration Attorney to join our firm and manage a full caseload involving removal defense, humanitarian relief, and family‑based immigration matters. This role requires strong courtroom advocacy, excellent legal writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Court Representation & Removal Defense

  • Represent clients in Master Calendar and Individual Merits Hearings before the Immigration Court.
  • Handle a wide range of removal defense matters, including:
  • Asylum, Withholding of Removal, CAT
  • Cancellation of Removal
  • Bond hearings
  • Motions to Reopen, Reconsider, or Terminate
  • Case analysis
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
  • Travel as needed for in‑person court appearances.
  • Meet with clients in ICE custody when required( Webex)

USCIS Casework & Humanitarian Relief

  • Prepare and file USCIS applications including:
  • VAWA, U‑Visa, T‑Visa, Adjustment of Status
  • Family‑based petitions
  • Naturalization
  • Humanitarian and special‑immigrant matters
  • Review and finalize all USCIS packets before mailing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Draft responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other USCIS correspondence.

Legal Writing, Case Strategy & Documentation

  • Draft motions, briefs, applications, affidavits, and supporting evidence with precision and timeliness.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies tailored to each client’s circumstances.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and upload evidence promptly.
  • Enter all deadlines and monitor them closely to ensure nothing is missed.

Client Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Conduct client consultations and provide clear guidance on case strategy, expectations, and timelines.
  • Communicate with clients regularly regarding case updates and required documentation.
  • Attend daily team meetings and maintain communication with staff throughout the workday.
  • Complete daily stand‑up summaries outlining work completed the previous day.

Professional Judgment & Leadership

  • Review and approve final filings prepared by support staff.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to case managers
  • Manage a high‑volume caseload across multiple matter types with strong organizational discipline.

Qualifications

  • Prior immigration law experience strongly preferred (court experience highly valued).
  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
