About the Role:
Miller Leiby, a boutique insurance defense firm with offices in New York and New Jersey, is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our Automobile Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending auto bodily injury and no-fault/PIP matters for insurers and self-insured entities.
Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of automobile negligence litigation, from pleadings through trial
- Draft motions, discovery, comprehensive case evaluations, and settlement evaluations
- Appear at depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court conferences
- Communicate regularly with carriers, claims adjusters, and clients
- Manage a moderate to high-volume caseload with attention to deadlines and strategy
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in New York (admission in other jurisdictions a plus)
- Minimum 3 years of insurance defense experience with a focus on auto bodily injury, no-fault, and SUM/UM claims
- Primary case venue will be NYC and surrounding counties
- Strong writing, oral advocacy, and client-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
