Miller Knauff Law Firm, a small-sized Texas civil litigation and insurance defense firm, seeks a full-time, experienced Litigation Assistant for its Dallas Office. We are looking for someone who works well individually and as a part of a legal team. You must be willing to manage multiple workstreams efficiently to successfully meet our firm's needs. Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. This position plays an intricate role in day-to-day operations.
Our firm represents various clients and corporations involved in various litigation matters. We require a strong work ethic. All Candidates MUST reside within a 20-mile radius of our office (located at 12221 Merit Dr, Dallas, TX 75251).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain well-organized case files
- Legal document preparation
- Scheduling of all court reporting services (court reporters, videographers, and interpreters)
- Coordinate and facilitate court reporting logistics (conference rooms, remote video setups, catering)
- Proofing and formatting documents
- Communication with clients, courts, and vendors
- Heavy Scheduling/Calendaring - depositions, hearings, mediations, client meetings, and trials (scheduling proficiency is imperative)
- E-file various legal documents
- Assisting with discovery and document production
- Work hand-in-hand with attorneys on case planning and case management
- Review and summarize information relevant to the case obtained through discovery requests, depositions, and records
- Create tables of contents and tables of authorities, prepare exhibits with redactions and bate numbering
- Organize deposition, mediation, and trial preparation materials
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Civil defense litigation experience preferred.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Effective communication and organization abilities.
- Detail-oriented and proactive.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workstreams.
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and knowledge and experience in preparing basic legal documents and pleadings.
- Electronically file in Federal and State courts.
Confidentiality will be maintained in all talks and negotiations.
