Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and applying primers.
- Mix and apply paints, coatings, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Follow safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct touch-ups, repairs, and maintenance painting as required.
- Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment.
- Work in confined spaces, at heights, or in challenging environments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks completed, materials used, and safety procedures followed.
- Experience in industrial painting, preferably in a plant setting.
- Knowledge of different paint types, coatings, and application methods.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Tools, equipment, machinery used: Hydroblasting, Vacuum Truck, and Tank cleaning equipment.
- Working conditions: Will be exposed to all weather conditions. Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated levels up to and possibly exceeding 150 ft. Work in confined spaces. Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends. Travel to customer and other Miller sites as needed.
- Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
