What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Industrial Vacuum Truck/Equipment Mechanic position at Miller Integrated Solutions?
Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
Perform diagnostics, trouble shooting and put together repair plans.
Computer diagnostic experience a plus but not mandatory.
DOT inspections understanding.
Evaluate Performance of all drive train component work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, steering systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on all units as scheduled.
Follow all Safety, Personal Protective and Equipment Policies.
Required Skills and Competencies
Ability to install, adjust or align brakes, wheels and wheel components such as bearings and air brake and valve systems to diagnose and repair brake and valve systems.
Knowledge of air/electric/hydraulic brake and valve systems to diagnose and repair brake and valve systems.
Knowledge of vehicle body control systems including electronics, AC and hydraulic systems.
Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous and industrial settings.
Must have own tools/transportation and be reliable and be hard working.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience
Valid Driver’s License.
Field Technician: 2 years (Preferred).
Diesel Mechanic: 5 years (Required).
Technical Institute Training or equivalent work experience and training not a must, but favorable.
Acceptable MVR/Background Check and pass pre-employment screenings.
Will be exposed to all weather conditions. Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated levels up to and possibly exceeding 150 ft. Work in confined spaces. Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends. Travel to customers and other Miller sites as needed.
Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
