The role
Miller Ink is seeking highly motivated interns skilled in writing, proofreading, research, content development, social media, and project management. All interns will receive exposure to, and experience in, a wide variety of communications projects and will work with prominent advocacy groups, businesses, and nonprofits.
Duties will include:
· Social media: Developing social media content and copy
· Writing: Drafting blog posts, stories, pitches, press releases, and media summaries
· Research: Conducting background research for client projects, talking points, pitches, and op-eds
· Project Management: Oversight of a range of projects, in collaboration with Associates and Account Executives
· Media relations: Conducting media outreach by phone and email
An ideal candidate will have:
· Top-notch writing and editorial skills (interest and previous experience in journalism/communications preferred)
· Excellent organizational and research abilities, good people skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of applications
· Interest in social media and an ability to use social media networks and analytics platforms
Additional Information:
This is position has the opportunity for part-time or full-time work, which does require time in office. Regular hours are required but can be set according to Intern’s schedule. Interns receive hourly pay and are expected to work 32-40 hours a week depending on schedule.
