Part-Time Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

About the Role
Miller Environmental Inc. has immediate openings for dependable, hands-on Part-Time Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators to support facilities located across Berks County, Pennsylvania.
This role offers flexible scheduling with limited supervision, making it an excellent opportunity for licensed operators seeking supplemental hours or motivated individuals with mechanical/operations aptitude interested in on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Operations: Perform day-to-day operations and routine monitoring of wastewater and drinking water treatment processes, solids handling, and distribution/collection systems.
- Testing & Compliance: Conduct daily laboratory tests, process control sampling, and record operational data accurately.
- Maintenance & Upkeep: Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, troubleshooting of plant equipment, and general housekeeping of facility buildings and grounds.
- Safety & Standards: Maintain compliance with local, state (DEP), and federal environmental and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Prior experience in wastewater or water treatment processes, solids handling, or mechanical systems preferred. Hands-on operational or trade experience will be strongly considered.
- Licensing: Valid Pennsylvania DEP Water or Wastewater Operator Certification preferred, but not required (willing to train the right candidate).
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
- Independence: Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
