What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milk Run Driver position at Miller Environmental Group Inc?
We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused CDL A driver with a current Hazmat endorsement to join our over-the-road fleet. This position is ideal for drivers who enjoy overnight travel with hotel and per diem provided. Monday through Thursday, operating in the Northeast US (NY, PA, NJ, MD, DE) stops at Miller Branches and 3rd Party Disposal Facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Update Facility Manager daily with all pertinent delivery/load information
Communicate professionally with clients, team members and disposal facilities.
Transport Hazardous, Non-Hazardous & Universal waste safely and efficiently on weekly route.
Perform less-than truckload (LTL) pick ups and full truck loads
Handle and secure hazardous materials in compliance with DOT and company standards.
Accurately maintains hazardous materials waste records including waste manifests and delivery documentation – paying strong attention to detail.
Communicate with disposal facilities to coordinate approved scheduled deliveries and maintain logistics of route.
Perform waste collection and disposal operations including identification, classification and segregation of hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, universal waste, regulated medical waste and recyclable materials
Maintains company equipment including scheduling repairs, PM, and inspections.
Serve as a resource to departments for questions regarding waste, including waste minimization and spill prevention
Provides technical guidance on proper waste handling, packaging, labeling, and disposal procedures
Complete weekly site Health & Safety key point indicators
Qualification/Requirements:·
- Valid CDL Class A License
- Current Hazmat (H) endorsement
- Ability to pass DOT drug screen and background check
- Knowledge in Hazardous waste transportation & disposal
- Ability to read/verify waste manifests/waste labels
- Strong work ethic and commitment to on-time delivery
- Ability to manage the route logistically
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Knowledge of MS Outlook
- Ability to multi-task
- Detail orientated and works with a high degree of accuracy
Education/Training/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- HAZWOPER preferred but will train
- RCRA/DOT Training preferred but will train
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable OTR Driving Experience
- Previous experience using ELD's including pre-trip and post-trip inspections
