The Resource Teacher provides targeted instructional support, models effective strategies, and assists in developing and adjusting individualized plans to meet diverse learner needs.

A typical day may include working directly with students in both general education and small-group settings, consulting with teachers on instructional practices and behavior supports, reviewing student data, and participating in team meetings. This role requires flexible thinking and willingness to problem solve complex situations and may also involve coordinating with families and service providers to ensure continuity of support, while working alongside administration.

The incumbent will expected to:

  • Identify instructional needs, and plan targeted interventions.
  • Work closely with administration to develop strategic plans for enhancing our ESN classrooms, improving systems of support, and serving as a bridge between general education, special education, and related services to ensure cohesive and effective programming for students.
  • The role may also provide behavior support and intervention strategies to help meet individual student needs effectively.
  • Depending on site and student needs, both push-in and pull-out services may be provided to support student success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Experience working in Special Education settings, particularly with students with moderate to severe disabilities, is highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate experience in behavior intervention and support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and implementing individualized academic and functional programming.
