Join our dynamic team as a Trainer and Application Specialist role, playing a pivotal role in elevating the skills and expertise of our customers, sales teams, and educators. As a key contributor, you will lead both independently and collaboratively, high quality technical training on Orbitalum’s orbital welding equipment, processes, and applications. This role serves as a subject matter expert in orbital welding and plays a critical role in enabling customer success by ensuring proper equipment use, weld quality, process understanding, and adherence to industry standards.
This position combines hands on technical expertise, instructional excellence, and customer engagement. The Orbital Welding Technical Trainer works closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to develop and deliver industry leading training programs that support Orbitalum’s strategic objectives and reinforce its reputation as a technology leader in orbital welding solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation ranging between $85,000 - $110,000 based on experience along with a bonus program.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Training Planning:
- Understand the business initiatives and goals of the sales teams.
- Establish strategic training plans to address specific needs, creating and executing learning opportunities to foster growth among end-user customers and sales teams.
- Deliver instructor-led hands-on training courses on Orbitalum’s orbital welding systems to end-users and sales team.
- Adapt training delivery methods to meet the needs of diverse audiences, from operators and technicians to engineers and technical sales professionals.
- Technical Expertise & Application Support
- Serve as a subject matter expert in orbital welding processes.
- Demonstrate best practices for orbital welding in high purity and precision applications.
- Support customers with application specific training, demonstrations, and technical guidance.
- Assist in troubleshooting welding issues during training or customer support activities and provide clear, practical recommendations.
- Course & Content Development
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Orbitalum NA training curricula, instructional materials, and hands‑on exercises.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Applications Engineering, and Sales to identify training needs, define learning objectives, and ensure technical accuracy of training content.
- Create and update training collateral, including presentations, videos, and digital learning resources.
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering based on training experience and customer input.
- Travel & Field Engagement
- Travel to customer sites, training centers, distributor locations, and trade events to deliver training and technical support.
- Estimated travel requirement: 75%, including domestic and occasional international travel.
- Minimum of 5 years of training experience.
- Experience in high purity or regulated industries such as data center, aerospace, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biotech, or food & beverage preferred.
- Background as a welding instructor, applications engineer, field service engineer, or technical specialist preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration and customer interaction.
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Tactful, diplomatic, and able to handle conflicts effectively.
- Knowledge of instructional design theory, learning principles, and modern training methods.
- Proficiency in common computing technologies and software.
- Technical aptitude required, with preferred welding experience.
- Proven ability to develop and execute plans to meet objectives.
- Positive attitude, high motivation, and solid decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to travel (estimated 75% travel).
