Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and wheel balancing to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Service diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics with specialized knowledge of diesel engine repair and related systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical repair techniques to execute repairs efficiently.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical and mechanical systems effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring vehicle safety standards are met or exceeded.
Experience
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on dealership or independent shop environments.
- Strong background in automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), auto body repair, auto estimating, and GM vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive suspension system repair, alignment procedures, brake repair, oil change services, and transmission repairs.
- Experience working with diesel mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and work with complex automotive electrical systems.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools.
