Portable Operations Operator (Equipment Operator)
Reports to: Off-Site Crushing Foreman
Travel Requirement: 100%
Job Overview:
The Portable Operations Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment, including skid loaders, excavators, and loaders, while also performing manual labor to support the maintenance and operation of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
This position requires travel 100% of the time, with some local opportunities available. Work is primarily scheduled for four days per week but may extend to five days depending on project scope or if production goals are not met. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work outdoors and perform manual labor as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate skid loaders, excavators, and loaders efficiently and safely
- Assist with maintaining and repairing crushing, screening, and conveying equipment
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying
- Work in various weather conditions
- Assist with the setup and teardown of portable plants
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards
- Travel as required for job assignments (per diem provided)
- Perform work outside of the job description as needed based on business needs
Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment (skid loader, excavator, loader) required
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills for plant equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Ability to respond to dangerous situations
- Ability to work in extreme weather
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Willingness to travel regularly, with occasional local work available
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Ability to work in a quarry environment and inclement weather
