Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced individual who can program freehand at the machine, set up jobs, and run parts with minimal supervision. You'll be responsible for small-batch and prototype work requiring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program CNC mills directly at the machine using G & M code (no CAM required)
  • Work confidently with Fanuc, Fadal, and Siemens controls
  • Perform precision setups including fixturing, tool selection, and part orientation
  • Interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T specifications
  • Run first-piece and short-run production with tight tolerances (±0.0005" typical)
  • Inspect parts using personal gages and precision measuring equipment
  • Work independently and manage multiple jobs efficiently
  • Perform light editing/troubleshooting of existing programs as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in CNC milling with strong programming ability at the machine
  • Fluent in G & M code with the ability to troubleshoot programs on-the-fly
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and deep understanding of machine behavior and tool paths
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting detailed blueprints, including GD&T
  • Must own basic tools and precision inspection gages (mics, calipers, indicators, etc.)
  • Experience with prototype, low-volume, or high-mix environments preferred
  • Familiarity with a variety of materials, including tool steels, aluminum, stainless, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Preferred Experience (Not Required but a Plus)

  • Experience machining broach tooling or complex cutting tools
  • Background in job-shop or high-precision prototype work
  • Ability to assist with fixture design or process improvement
